The 10th DREAMLAND English Corner was held in the evening on May 14th in the hall of the Honors College. Although some students weren’t able to get involved in this event because of the sudden heavy rain, a few students were soon immersed themselves in the atmosphere of English Corner and started to share their opinions and thoughts with other participants.
To enrich the contents and topics for students, six different English articles have been selected in advance and provided to participants. They had in-depth discussions about related topics and compared their own opinions with those provided in the reading articles. During the event, the topics addressed by students include “life of a professional game player”, “whether crying is good for us”, “how to exercise indoors and outdoors”, “text or face-to-face communication” and so on.
As a new event to improve students’ international communication competence, DREAMLAND English Corner had been carried on for ten times so far. Each time, students actively discussed or shared their own experience and feelings with others. English movies, games and group presentations were added into the English corner as well , in order to meet the diversified needs of students for communication.
