On Dec 9, 2020, the meeting between the staff of Honors College (HC) and the Professor from University of Twente (UT) was held on line. UT (https://www.utwente.nl/) is a world well-known university, with No. 197 of QS World University Ranking and No. 201-250 of TIMES World University Ranking. Professor Louis Winnubst from UT, first reviewedthe 20-year friendship and cooperation history between UT and NPU. He works in School of Chemical Engineering and also acts as the lecture professor of University of Science and Technology of China. The participants of the meeting from HC are Ms Yuan Yun, the deputy dean of the Honors College (HC) and Ms. Wei Xiaodong, the secretary of international affairs. 

The cooperation between NPU and UT is within the MOU framework between two universities at various levels for many years. The latest renewal of the MOU was done in 2015. The cooperation is not limited on the courses, but also on credit programs and degree programs. The 3rd year of NPU undergraduate students can apply for the 4th year study in UT. With the bachelor degree obtained, NPU students can also continue one-year Master program in TU for the Master degree, which is so called UT 3+1+1 program. Prof. Louis Winnubst was impressed by the great performance of NPU students in the past and would like to encourage more HC students to apply for the program to the maximum extent.

Both sides reviewed the Summer Camp last year organized for HC students in UT. The Summer Camp lasted for about 3 weeks. Students attended a tailored program first for a week and then enjoyed another special fruitful generic program for NPU students. With the good hope of all recovering from the COVID-19 next year, the 2021 Summer Camp program and plan was addressed in the meeting. Ms. Yuan invited Prof. Louis Winnubst to give a course on Inorganic Material for HC students next year as well, to further expand the high-quality courses for HC students.
