The fourth session of the Honors College's "Qizhen Salon" on internationalization was successfully held

May 26th 2021, the fourth session of the Qizhen Salon on Internationalization-The Development of American Universities and Innovation Education was successfully held in Honors College at noon. Mr. Hou Xiaorui, Vice President of Xi'an International Talent Exchange Association and Executive Director of Xi'an European and American Association, was invited as the speaker of this salon. More than 40 students from the Honors College and Ms. Yang Wenqi, the Secretary of Internationalization, attended this salon.

Mr. Hou Xiaorui introduced the concept of makerspaces and the concept of innovation and creativity. He stressed that innovations are for life. His introduction started from the history of some American Internet companies such as YouTube, Facebook and Apple. Mr. Hou also gave an in-depth explanation of the innovative design and product of the Case Western Reserve University Makerspace team in Ohio for epidemic infection protection. The experience and practice of American universities, led by Stanford University, which attach great importance to the cultivation and training of creative thinking and innovative consciousness among undergraduates, are instructive for developing innovative  ability of undergraduates. Students who wish to apply for further study abroad cannot ignore accumulation and demonstration of research and innovation experiences in the preparation of their applications.

During the interactive session, students asked questions and discussed with Mr. Hou about innovation and entrepreneurship and other topics of interest. The Honors college regularly organizes "Qizhen Salon" about internationalization this semester to share with students the experience of studying overseas, the Master or PhD study application experience, admission requirements of the world's leading universities, etc. This has to a certain extent broadened students’ international views ,inspired them to pursue higher academic goals and improved the students' enthusiasm and ambition to p improve their overall quality.
