On March 26, the fourth Dreamland English Corner was held at the lobby of Honors College Building, hosted by the deputy dean of HC, Yuan Yun. About 80 students from different grades and different colleges participated in the activity.

Apart from ”regular” participants who come and attend the English corner very often, there are more and more students, as new faces, from other colleges showing up this time, including those from the school of Power and Energy, the school of Automation, the school of Computer Science, the QMUL Engineering School, NPU, etc. The students who attend the English Corner every week have found themselves making a great progress in oral English.

The topics for this week are proposed by students, which are: “Do you know the course ‘College Students’ Cooking? Talk about your favorite dish in the canteen with your reasons”. “Do you often stay up late at night? Talk about the reason why people stay up late though they know the bad effects and give some suggestions to do with the problem” .

Besides, a video made by HC preparatory students about their interviews on NPU international students were also played. The interviews are mainly about the international students’ impression on China. The interviewees came from all over the world. The video reflected that many international students had changed their impressions on China significantly in a positive way. This also encourage students to improve communication capability to help the world to understand China better.

The English corner is not only a good place for us to improve our spoken English but also provides important opportunities for students to communicate with each other.” Wang Yuanchun, a sophomore of HC said.
